Only One Pound was inspired by a conversation overheard on a train - what to do with a book when finished!
Run by volunteers, OOP has clearly defined donation aims and objectives. We have contractual agreements with Sightsavers and all of the £1 fee, from book, cd and dvd sales, will be forwarded to them. We retain the 65p admin charge to cover site expenses and administration costs.
Our fee from Auction sales is 8% - though it will be lower on high value items.
With increasing numbers of OOP members we hope to reduce these fees.
Sightsavers does not have high street shops, so it is a great opportunity for them to broaden their fundraising activities.
Our aim is to build an active online community with the focused aim of raising funds for Sightsavers.
